Are you truly grateful for what you have?
OR
Are you just settling for the status quo because you don’t want to seem spoiled and offend the people who’d kill for what you have?
————————————————————
It stands to reason that gratitude is a powerful tool.
But sometimes, the bravest thing you can do, is to be disappointed and dissatisfied with the status Quo.
Now, this is NOT a free-for-all to go Ham on feeling sorry for yourself and start a Go-Fund-Me campaign to break down the establishment!
This is also NOT a stab at the status quo. We DO NEED a certain amount of gratitude for what we have already and how far we’ve come…
…but when it comes to goals and desires, well, it stands to reason that sometimes gratitude can cleverly mask itself as settling.
Settling will always (!!!) result in variations of resentment and often lead to you NOT getting closer to your desires.
Gratitude for what you have and how far you’ve come can go hand in hand with taking the next step and taking a leap.
And that’s often the problem when you’re ‘prescribed’ gratitude when in reality you want more! So accessing that gratitude is hard because there’s a part of you that has already thrown away any possibility of “Best” to enter your world.
But to get THE best…you have to allow yourself to be brave enough to let go of second best first. It doesn’t invalidate what you have.
it simply acts as a foundation.
And that takes bravery. Because ‘good girls’ don’t cause problems.
